When the weather is cold and snowy, as it often is here in Lenawee County and southeastern Michigan, beating cabin fever can be a challenge. One antidote is to plan a family outing to some of the following locations:
Hidden Lake Gardens (M-50, Tipton, Michigan 49287)
Beat the winter blues by exploring the trails at Hidden Lake Gardens, then warm up inside the conservatory with its lush tropical gardens. Open 362 days of the year with an admission fee of just $3 per person this is an affordable and memorable way to get active this winter in southeastern Michigan.
The Croswell (129 E. Maumee Street, Adrian, Michigan 49221)
The Croswell Opera House is the oldest theater in Michigan and one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in the United States—right here in Lenawee County! This winter (starting in March) the theater is staging the family-friendly show Stella Luna and Other Tales. This show, and The Croswell's other performances are a great way to spend a winter afternoon in Lenawee County, Michigan.
The Old Road Dinner Train Experience (301 E. Adrian Street, Blissfield, Michigan 49228)
While the name may say “Dinner Train” your family can enjoy pizza, a ride with the Easter Bunny, a murder mystery theater and much more this winter while participating in a traditional railcar experience. There are other events to check out throughout the year, too.
The Tecumseh Civic Auditorium (400 N. Maumee, Tecumseh, Michigan 49286)
Taking in a show at The Tecumseh Civic Auditorium (TCA) is a wonderful way to appreciate the arts as a family and take in some of our local talent, along with some top-notch touring artisans. This winter, The Tecumseh Center for the Arts is welcoming Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr. and Shrek The Musical to its Shirley Todd Herrick Theater.
