September 10, 2025 was the day appointed when a young man kissed this world goodbye. And no one, not even the decedent, his surviving family or the organization he founded, could have imagined what his horrific death would usher in, across this country and frankly around the world.
In the hope of stopping his voice, the assailant thought he could silence him. It’s fascinating how the words of many Christian martyrs seem to linger long after their earthly exists…as if the Holy Spirit purposes it so. You can kill the messenger but not the message.
What clarity, wisdom, and influence did this man leave for us to meditate on? You only have to surf the Internet to catch a mere glimpse of his immense impact embedded now for posterity. Armed with this passionate body of ministry, how will it help to shape our countenance and purpose moving forward?
The following is a written message that Charlie Kirk verbalized sometime before he died:
“First, I want you to know I’m fine. Not because my body is fine, but because my soul is secured in Christ. Death is not the end, it’s a promotion. Don’t waste one second mourning me. I knew the risks of standing up in this cultural moment, and I’d do it all over again.”
“Second, do not let this violence divide us further. The enemy wants chaos, fear and retaliation.
Don’t give it to them. Instead, double down on Truth, double down on courage, double down on your faith and on your families. That is how you honor me.”
“Third, remember this…America is worth it. Free speech is worth it. Fighting for the unborn, for families, for sanity in a culture gone mad…it’s all worth it. So, dry your tears, pick up your cross and get back in the fight. Do it with joy, do it with strength, and never ever let evil think it won.”
To be honest, I had never heard of Charlie Kirk until he kept popping up in my social media feeds, about 6-8 months ago. After the first encounter in hearing him speak, I was intrigued and then hooked. Since his journey began, and even now after death, his respectful desire for all people to be heard and his honesty in sharing his faith in love…remains acutely contagious.
I am writing this article on the evening of September 17th. During devotional time that morning, I was reading in the biblical Book of Daniel. Chapter 12, verse 3 [ESV] jumped off the page at me! Here it is: “And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
Immediately, I thought of Charlie. It should not be surprising then, with the outpouring of support across the globe, that new Turning Point USA Chapter inquiries are basically beyond comprehension. According to Amanda Macias with Fox News, as of September 17, 2025 at 11:45 AM EDT, Turning Point USA chapter requests have surged over 54,000 after Kirk’s assassination. According to her reporting as of that date, TPUSA operates 900 college chapters across the country. This movement is beginning to unleash personal and corporate revival, through the youth…the likes we have not seen in sometime. Charlie has been compared to a Billy Graham of our modern day.
In trying to understand the why of Charlie Kirk’s death, all of us need to be reminded that our fight is not against people with whom we disagree. Our fight ladies and gentlemen, is against the adversary and his demons who are hell bent on dismantling, distracting, deceiving and destroying society as we know it. Killing each other is not the answer, my friends. Satan loves this discord and what we continue to do to each other.
Charlie is in good company. They pierced the Lion of the tribe of Judah too, and despite the accuser’s best efforts, he continues to be no match for the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The deceiver knows he is defeated and his time is short.
There are moments in our lives that are etched in our memories. Whether you recall the deaths of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr. and RFK, Jr.; when President Reagan was shot, when Apollo 11 landed on the moon, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the 2977 deaths of 9-11, or whatever monumental occurrence you have witnessed during your life, I pray we both remember the death of Charlie Kirk and make his memory a turning point in our world history.
May his legacy encourage all of us to boldly pick our crosses and follow the One that guided Charlie’s life. His death has become a flash point for people everywhere to step up and carry the mantle already assembled.
At 16, Charlie had an idea, and at the age of 18 this idea became more than a dream, it became a reality. With nothing but a vision and inspiration from the Holy Spirit, Turning Point USA was created. Charlie died at 31. He fulfilled his ministry. He fulfilled his destiny. And, the zeal for his faith stands as an eternal witness. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of untold numbers of people. May his efforts be reflected in our labor as well. Charlie’s hope is only getting started!
As Paul penned to the church at Philippi from a prison cell in Rome, “To live is Christ and to die is gain.” The Book of Wisdom, 4:7, “But the righteous man, though he die early, will be at rest.”
